Lipstick Swatch & Impression: L’Oreal Color Riche Matte Lipstick (Paris Cherry)

In one of my runs at Rossmann, I came across L’Oreal’s leather-type black lipstick tube with a gold accent and thought I’d check it out. I did a few swipes and decided to go with the color Paris Cherry.

Although I’ve been stuck mostly with either a lip tint or a liquid lipstick because I don’t want any color transfers when I cuddle with my baby, I thought of indulging in a buttery – but still matte – lipstick. And what better way to indulge than a lipstick with an attractive casing and glorious color selection?

L’Oreal’s Color Riche Matte Lipstick beauty pitch

  • Enriched with Jojoba Oil for an intense color and lip protection

  • Also has Camelia Oil which provides the lips with long-lasting moisture

  • Claims to have a non-drying formula that is not only long-wearing but also comfortable to wear

  • It retails at Rossmann for 9,95 €

My impression

After wearing it a couple of times, I know that I’d reach for this lipstick on days when I need a quick pop of color or on a date night. I knew I liked it the moment I swiped it on my lips. It has a rich, light buttery texture that does not feel drying. It settles into a semi-matte without the shiny finish.

Because it’s not completely matte, there will be transfers. I cannot say for the lighter shades but for the deeper shade that I got, it gracefully fades without sticking to the lines of my lips. I find those matte lipsticks that find their way on the lines of the lips when they fade very unattractive, so it’s great that this is not an issue with this one.

The only thing I was 50-50 about was the faint powdery smell when I took it out of the casing. But having used it for a while, the smell didn’t bother me anymore.

The lipstick, L'Oreal Color Riche Matte in Paris Cherry, works well with very light makeup (eyebrows and face powder).

Final thoughts about L’Oreal Color Riche Matte Lipstick

Hit up the shelves, STAT! The lipstick, although matte, is not drying at all. You will like this if you are searching for something matte without the consequence of chapped lips. The color pay-off after one swipe is glorious, making the deeper shades stand out. The scent may be off-putting to anyone sensitive to smell, but to me, this wasn’t a problem at all. Furthermore, if reapplying after 2 to 3 hours doesn’t bother you (you can also just leave it to fade gracefully, if you so please), then this is one classy bullet that you should have in your collection.
